Lake Construction - Thornhaugh Estate

This was a private landscape contract involving the construction of a lined 10,000m² (2.5 acre) lake, complicated by the installation of the liner onto rock. This involves the excavation of rocks, some weighing over 3 tonnes, which were then re-used in landscaping the surrounding area. Other parts of the project included a clay constructed storage reservoir, delivery pipe work and pumping irrigation system for formal gardens, water features including specialist bridges, 30tones of oak for a boardwalk, feature stones, oak edging on the lake liner, aeration, paving, jetties and general hard landscaping around the lake .
